The Speakeasy in Longmont has been a gathering spot for live music and other more illicit things throughout history. It features an old passageway that must have a few secrets from the prohibition era (it’s rumored that it was a brothel at one point). Take a few steps down into the basement from street level and you’ll find a hip bar with a late crowd and a sexy vibe. It still has that underground feel, like you might be doing something wrong even though virtually everything is now legal in Colorado.
The “shotgun room” has stone walls and a tin ceiling, which make for a nice reverb in the room. It’s a great place to play, and it really packs in the dancers late into the evening.
